Andrew Knight
Executive Chairman
Member of Remuneration Committee

Mr Knight is a founder investor and co-founder of the business. He is an entrepreneur with a proven commercial track record having successfully built up a number of private businesses. Initially involved in the development of care homes, he expanded his business interests into property and land development before introducing substantial cash and resources into Henderson Morley. Mr Knight oversees commercial aspects of the business, together with all corporate communications. He has worked for Henderson Morley full-time since May 2000, and he has been instrumental in the negotiation and conclusion of several important deals with development partners.

 

Dr Ian Pardoe, MB ChB MRCGP
Chief Executive & Medical Director

Dr Pardoe is a co-founder of the business and a substantial investor in the company. Dr Pardoe has been a medical practitioner for over 20 years having worked in the NHS and private sectors. He has been involved with the scientific development programme since 1996, and has considerable experience in the pre-clinical and clinical development programmes of the company’s lead technologies. He has been responsible for the development and management of the intellectual property portfolio and for the scientific research programme. He is a named inventor on many of the company’s patents.

 

Christopher Pate, FCA
Finance Director

Mr Pate is a chartered accountant and has been a Partner in a professional firm of accountants since 1974. He was admitted a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales in 1979. He has provided business development consultancy services to a range of businesses throughout the West Midlands. He has experience in industries in many diverse spheres including engineering, distribution and property.

 

Professor Michael Fowler, BSc Hons (Lond) PhD (Cantab) Cbiol FIBiol FRSA Emeritus Professor of Biotechnology in the University of Sheffield

Professor Fowler is a past Director of the Wolfson Institute of Biotechnology and more recently the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at the University of Sheffield. Professor Fowler has chaired several committees for UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organisation) particularly in the area of bio-diversity prospecting. He has many years of experience as a non-executive director, and also chairs the companies remuneration committee.

 

Dr Christopher Hartley, Ph.D.
Principal Scientist

Dr Hartley has a PhD in virology, his thesis explored for the first time the use and mechanism of lithium as an anti-viral treatment. He is an authority on the ionic basis of anti-viral chemotherapy with twenty years experience in research into anti-viral therapy through the development of novel vaccines and novel chemotherapies. His contribution to the company has been the discovery of various anti-viral treatments, diagnostic devices, patent applications, and the successful completion of a DTI SMART award. He has published numerous academic papers in the field of herpes virology and anti-viral drugs.
